Carnelian

Carnelian is a beautiful variety of Chalcedony, belonging to the Quartz family and loved for its warm, fiery colouring. Its natural shades can range from soft peach and golden orange through to vibrant burnt orange, reddish-brown and deep red.

Its colour comes primarily from iron oxides within the stone. Carnelian can be translucent or more opaque and often displays beautiful natural banding, cloudy patterns and variations in colour. Some pieces also contain sparkling Quartz or Druzy-lined pockets, creating incredible natural formations.

Metaphysically, Carnelian is believed to be a stone of energy, confidence, creativity and motivation. It is associated with courage, passion and taking action, and is commonly connected with the Sacral Chakra.
