Celestite, also known as Celestine, is a beautiful strontium sulphate mineral best known for its delicate, heavenly shades of blue. Its name comes from the Latin caelestis, meaning “heavenly,” a perfect description for its soft sky-blue colouring.

Celestite commonly forms as transparent to translucent crystals with a beautiful glassy lustre. It can occur as individual crystals, sparkling clusters and incredible crystal-lined geodes, with colours ranging from almost colourless and icy pale blue through to richer blue tones.

Some of the most beautiful Celestite comes from Madagascar, particularly the Sakoany deposits, which are known for producing gorgeous blue crystals and impressive natural geodes.

Metaphysically, Celestite is believed to carry a gentle, peaceful energy associated with calm, clarity and spiritual connection. It is often used for meditation and relaxation and is commonly connected with the Throat, Third Eye and Crown Chakras.
