Kunzite is a beautiful variety of the mineral Spodumene, a lithium aluminium silicate treasured for its delicate shades of pink, lilac and soft violet-purple.

Its gorgeous colouring comes from trace amounts of manganese within the crystal. Kunzite is often transparent to translucent with a lovely glassy lustre, and some pieces display different intensities of colour when viewed from different directions, an optical property known as pleochroism.

Kunzite crystals can grow to impressive sizes and often form as elongated, vertically striated crystals. Its soft pastel colouring can range from the palest blush pink through to vibrant pink-purple and beautiful lavender tones.

Metaphysically, Kunzite is believed to carry a gentle, loving energy associated with compassion, emotional balance, inner peace and self-love. It is commonly connected with the Heart Chakra and is often chosen for meditation, emotional wellbeing and encouraging openness and positivity.
