Lapis Lazuli

Lapis Lazuli is a beautiful deep blue metamorphic rock that has been treasured for thousands of years for its incredible colour and striking natural markings.

Rather than being a single mineral, Lapis Lazuli is made up of several minerals, with blue Lazurite responsible for its characteristic rich blue colouring. It often contains sparkling golden Pyrite, along with white or cream Calcite veining, creating wonderful patterns that make every piece completely unique.

The finest Lapis is especially prized for its intense blue colour, with beautiful natural Pyrite inclusions adding flashes of metallic gold. It has a long history of being used for jewellery, carvings, decorative objects and even ground into pigment for the precious blue colour ultramarine.

Metaphysically, Lapis Lazuli is believed to be a stone of wisdom, truth and communication. It is associated with confidence, self-expression, intuition and spiritual awareness and is commonly connected with the Throat and Third Eye Chakras.
