Collection: Petrified Wood and Fossils
Petrified Wood and fossils are incredible pieces of natural history, preserving a glimpse of life on Earth from millions of years ago.
Petrified Wood begins as ancient wood that becomes buried beneath sediment and protected from decay. Over an extremely long period of time, mineral-rich water moves through the wood, gradually replacing the original organic material with minerals, often Quartz and Chalcedony. The result is stone that can still preserve remarkable details of the original tree, including growth rings, grain and bark-like textures.
Fossils form when the remains, impressions or traces of ancient plants and animals are preserved within rock. From Ammonites and fossilised shells to coral, plants and other ancient life, each fossil tells its own fascinating story about the environment in which it once existed.
Metaphysically, Petrified Wood is believed to be a deeply grounding stone associated with stability, patience, strength and connection to the Earth. Fossils are often associated with ancient wisdom, transformation and our connection to the natural world and its long history.
Whether polished into spheres, freeforms and carvings or left in their natural form, Petrified Wood and fossils are truly unique pieces to collect, with no two ever exactly alike.
