Red Hematoid or Fire Quartz

Fire Quartz, also known as Hematoid Quartz, is a striking variety of Quartz containing natural inclusions of Hematite and other iron minerals. These inclusions create its beautiful fiery colouring, ranging from golden orange and rusty red through to rich reddish-brown.

The Hematite can appear as clouds, wisps, streaks, speckles or dramatic internal formations suspended within the Quartz. Some pieces remain beautifully clear or translucent around the inclusions, creating wonderful depth and allowing the fiery patterns inside the crystal to really stand out.

Metaphysically, Fire Quartz is believed to combine the clarity and amplifying qualities associated with Quartz with the grounding energy traditionally associated with Hematite. It is often connected with confidence, focus, motivation, balance and bringing scattered energy back down to earth.
