Shattuckite is a beautiful and relatively uncommon copper mineral, highly sought after for its incredible shades of vivid blue, turquoise and blue-green.

It is a copper silicate hydroxide mineral that forms in the oxidised zones of copper deposits. Shattuckite is often found alongside other copper minerals such as Chrysocolla, Malachite, Azurite and Cuprite, creating spectacular combinations of intense blues, greens and earthy tones. It may also occur within or alongside Quartz, producing beautifully patterned specimens and polished pieces.

Because several blue and green copper minerals can occur together, each piece can look dramatically different, with swirling colour, veins, patches and contrasting areas of matrix.

Metaphysically, Shattuckite is believed to be a stone of communication, intuition and truth. It is associated with clear self-expression, inner wisdom and spiritual awareness and is commonly connected with the Throat and Third Eye Chakras. When naturally combined with minerals such as Malachite, Chrysocolla or Azurite, their traditional metaphysical associations are also often considered part of the stone’s character.
