Collection: Stichtite and Atlantisite
Atlantisite is a beautiful and distinctive stone made from the natural combination of purple Stichtite within a green Serpentine matrix. The contrast between its soft lavender to rich purple colouring and shades of pale through to deeper green makes every piece completely unique.
Stichtite is a relatively rare magnesium chromium carbonate mineral, while Serpentine refers to a group of magnesium-rich silicate minerals. Together they create the striking purple-and-green material commonly known by the trade name Atlantisite.
Atlantisite is especially associated with material from Tasmania, Australia, where this beautiful combination of Stichtite and Serpentine is particularly well known. Its patterns can range from small purple patches and spots through to dramatic areas of Stichtite surrounded by swirling green Serpentine.
Metaphysically, Atlantisite is believed to have a gentle yet grounding energy associated with compassion, emotional balance, inner peace and personal growth. Stichtite is often connected with the Heart and Crown Chakras, while Serpentine is traditionally associated with grounding, transformation and connection with the Earth.
From polished freeforms and palm stones to spheres and carvings, Atlantisite is a wonderfully unusual stone with an unmistakable combination of purple and green.
