Tiger’s Eye is a beautiful variety of Quartz known for its incredible silky, shifting bands of colour and distinctive optical effect known as chatoyancy. As the stone moves in the light, bands appear to glide across its surface, creating the striking “cat’s-eye” effect that gives the stone its name.

Golden Tiger’s Eye is the classic variety, displaying rich bands of golden yellow, honey, bronze and deep brown. Blue Tiger’s Eye, also known as Hawk’s Eye, features beautiful shades of deep blue, blue-grey and sometimes golden-brown, with the same gorgeous silky chatoyancy.

Tiger Iron is a naturally banded material combining Tiger’s Eye with iron-rich minerals, commonly Hematite and Jasper. It can display dramatic layers and patterns of gold, bronze, brown, red and metallic grey, with areas of shimmering Tiger’s Eye running throughout.

Metaphysically, Tiger’s Eye is believed to be a stone of confidence, courage, focus and protection. Blue Tiger’s Eye is also associated with calm, clear thinking and communication, while Tiger Iron is traditionally connected with strength, grounding, motivation and vitality.
