Beautiful Natural Mineral Formations

The colour on this particular piece is just spectacular. Brilliant electric-blue and vivid turquoise Chrysocolla spread across the broad natural surface, creating a striking display of colour and texture.

Unlike specimens with deep cavities and heavily raised mineral growth, this piece has a wider, flatter formation, allowing you to appreciate the beautiful coverage of turquoise-blue mineralisation.

Across the surface, you'll discover countless tiny rounded botryoidal clusters, subtle rippling formations, delicate natural openings and areas of smooth, hardened-looking silica-rich mineral growth.

Soft mint-green and earthy mineral layers provide beautiful contrast against the more intensely coloured Chrysocolla.

Turn the piece over and you'll discover an entirely different appearance.

The reverse reveals a fascinating natural grey and earthy matrix, with vivid turquoise-blue mineral veins running through the stone.

There are also exposed pockets of tiny rounded mineral formations, natural cavities and beautiful layered sections that reveal the complex mineral growth within the host rock.

The contrast between the brilliant turquoise-blue front and the rugged, mineral-rich reverse makes this specimen particularly interesting to admire from both sides.

About Botryoidal Silica Chrysocolla and Malachite

Chrysocolla is a beautiful copper-bearing mineral material renowned for its spectacular shades of blue, turquoise and blue-green.

In copper-rich deposits, Chrysocolla can occur alongside silica-rich mineral formations, creating fascinating natural layers with different textures and appearances.

The term botryoidal describes the rounded, grape-like formations that develop as minerals grow in clustered masses.

On this particular specimen, these formations spread across the broad surface in a beautiful combination of tiny rounded clusters, gentle ripples and textured mineral growth.

Malachite is another copper mineral commonly found alongside Chrysocolla, recognised for its beautiful green colouring and natural banding.

Together, these minerals create fascinating combinations of colour, texture and geological character.

A Beautiful Natural Collector's Specimen

The extraordinary turquoise-blue colouring immediately catches your attention, but it's the wonderful natural mineral formations that make this piece so special.

The broad, richly coloured surface displays an abundance of tiny botryoidal formations, while the reverse reveals beautiful mineral-filled fractures and pockets of additional Chrysocolla growth.

The natural contrast between the vibrant turquoise mineralisation and the earthy matrix adds depth and character to this fascinating specimen.

Left completely natural and unpolished, this is a wonderful example of the incredible beauty of copper-rich mineral deposits from the Congo.
