8th Vein Old Stock Ocean Jasper

Ocean Jasper is a rare and highly collectible material found only in Madagascar. Different deposits or “veins” have produced their own distinctive colours, patterns and formations, with older material becoming increasingly sought after by collectors.

This piece is old stock 8th Vein material, with those beautiful orbicular formations that Ocean Jasper is so well known for.

Ocean Jasper deposits are found in remote coastal areas of northwestern Madagascar, with some of the original material famously accessible only by boat and collected around low tide.

A Little About Ocean Jasper

Ocean Jasper is a variety of chalcedony known for its incredible orbicular patterns, with circles, eyes, swirls and wonderfully unusual colour combinations. Druzy pockets and botryoidal formations can also occur, making every piece completely unique.

Metaphysically, Ocean Jasper is often referred to as a stone of joy and positivity. It is believed to help lift the spirits, encourage optimism and assist with releasing negative thoughts and emotions.

It is also associated with the Heart and Sacral Chakras and is believed to encourage compassion, emotional balance and an open heart.
