Blue Apatite in Cleavelandite

This fascinating material combines beautiful Blue Apatite with Cleavelandite, a variety of the feldspar mineral Albite.

The pale white to translucent Cleavelandite creates a beautiful background for the Blue Apatite, allowing those gorgeous blue and turquoise areas to really stand out. The combination of colour, natural patterning and subtle shimmer gives these pieces wonderful depth.

It can sometimes be confused visually with K2 Granite, particularly because both materials can display striking blue against a pale matrix. They are, however, completely different materials.

K2 material typically has distinct, rounded blue Azurite spots scattered through a pale granite matrix, whereas Blue Apatite in Cleavelandite tends to have a softer, more crystalline appearance, with the blue Apatite occurring through the lighter Cleavelandite matrix in less uniformly defined formations.
