Beautiful Hand-Knotted 54-Bead Mālā with Lodolite, Bloodstone & Black Tourmaline – Brass Snake Pendant

This is such a beautiful earthy Mālā, handmade with a gorgeous combination of Lodolite, Bloodstone and Black Tourmaline beads and finished with a Brass Snake pendant. 🐍✨

Hand-knotted by me using 8mm semi-precious gemstone beads, with TierraCast pewter spacers and coated Hematite accents throughout.

The combination of deep earthy colours, natural inclusions and the symbolism of the Snake makes this a particularly special one-of-a-kind Mālā.

The Snake – Transformation & Rebirth 

Snakes have carried powerful symbolism across cultures for thousands of years.

Because a snake sheds its skin, it has long been associated with transformation, rebirth, renewal and healing. It can represent leaving behind what no longer serves you, embracing change and moving forward into a new chapter.

The Snake is also traditionally connected with life force, wisdom and personal transformation — beautiful symbolism to carry with you in a Mālā.

Lodolite – Garden Quartz 

Lodolite, also known as Garden Quartz, is a beautiful variety of included Quartz containing fascinating natural mineral formations.

These inclusions can look like tiny gardens, clouds, forests or miniature landscapes captured within the Quartz, meaning every single bead can have its own little world inside.

Metaphysically, Lodolite is traditionally associated with inner peace, spiritual growth, meditation and connection with the natural world. It is believed to encourage reflection, clarity and a deeper connection with yourself.

Bloodstone

Bloodstone has been treasured for centuries and is traditionally associated with strength, courage, vitality and resilience.

It is believed to encourage determination and confidence, particularly during challenging periods or times of change.

Combined with the Snake pendant, I love the symbolism of Bloodstone in this Mālā — having the courage and strength to embrace transformation and keep moving forward.

Black Tourmaline 

Black Tourmaline, also known mineralogically as Schorl, is one of the best-known crystals traditionally associated with grounding and protection.

It is believed to help clear unwanted energy while encouraging stability, calm and a stronger connection with the earth.

Together, Lodolite, Bloodstone and Black Tourmaline create a beautiful combination traditionally associated with grounding, protection, courage, inner strength, personal growth and transformation.

About Your Mālā

This is a 54-bead Half Mālā, handmade and individually hand-knotted by me.

A Half Mālā sits shorter than a traditional 108-bead Mālā while still being perfect for meditation, mantra practice, reflection or simply wearing as a beautiful and meaningful piece of jewellery.

Every Mālā I create is an individual creation. No two are ever exactly the same.

Some designs may be similar, but because I work with natural gemstones, every bead has its own colour, inclusions and markings, making your finished Mālā completely unique.

Each Mālā comes in its own hand-stamped cotton bag with an information card.

I have always believed the best way to choose your Mālā is intuitively — see which stones, colours or design your heart is naturally drawn towards. ✨

Using Your Mālā

A traditional full Mālā contains 108 beads plus a Guru bead. Mālās can also be made using divisions of 108, including 54, 27 and 18 beads.

For Japa or mantra meditation, begin with the bead beside the Guru and move through each bead while repeating your chosen mantra. The Guru itself is traditionally not counted as one of the mantra beads.

With a 54-bead Mālā, completing two rounds gives you the traditional 108 repetitions.

Your Mālā can be used for meditation, reflection, intention setting, as a connection to the gemstones you've chosen, or simply worn because you love it.

Ultimately, your Mālā becomes whatever you want it to be. Over time, you fill it with your intentions, thoughts, hopes and dreams, making it something truly personal to you.
