Amazing Rare Flashy Purple Labradorite Heart
This gorgeous Purple Labradorite heart has the most incredible flash, with beautiful layers of colour appearing across both the front and the back. As you move it through the light, different flashes reveal themselves at different angles, giving the stone amazing depth and that almost otherworldly glow Labradorite is so loved for.
And as always with Labradorite, it is so much flashier in person than the camera can ever quite capture.
Large Purple Labradorite hearts of this quality are incredibly hard for me to source, especially with such beautiful flash on both sides. At 382g, this is a substantial piece and one I was super happy to find.
Weight: 382g
Size: 8.7cm across
Thickness: 3.7cm
Videos are available on Instagram to show the incredible flash and how the colours change as the heart moves through the light.
What Makes Labradorite Flash?
Labradorite is a member of the feldspar mineral family and is famous for its incredible optical effect known as labradorescence.
Light interacts with the microscopic layered structure within the stone, producing those amazing flashes that appear to glow from beneath the surface. Depending on the individual Labradorite, colours can range from blue, green and gold through to orange, pink, violet and beautiful purple.
Purple flash is particularly captivating, and this heart has multiple layers and areas of flash, meaning different colours and patterns appear as you change the angle of the stone.
