A Little About Rainbow Obsidian

Rainbow Obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass formed when silica-rich lava cools rapidly.

Its beautiful rainbow effect is created by microscopic structures within the Obsidian that interact with light, revealing layers and bands of iridescent colour beneath the dark surface.

Depending on the angle and lighting, Rainbow Obsidian can reveal beautiful shades of purple, magenta, blue, green and gold.

What makes this particular piece so special is the way its colours appear in soft, flowing concentric bands, creating an almost glowing effect within the stone.

Metaphysical Properties

Metaphysically, Rainbow Obsidian is traditionally associated with protection, grounding and releasing unwanted or negative energy.

It is believed to have a gentler energy than traditional Black Obsidian, encouraging emotional understanding, self-reflection and the release of old patterns.

Rainbow Obsidian is also associated with emotional healing, creativity, hope and finding light during difficult times, beautifully reflected in the hidden rainbow colours that emerge from within the dark stone.

Its beautiful layers of colour are often seen as a reminder that even when things appear dark on the surface, there can be something extraordinary waiting to be discovered beneath.
