Rainbow Obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass formed when silica-rich lava cools rapidly. Its amazing rainbow effect is created by microscopic layers and inclusions within the Obsidian that interact with light, producing those beautiful bands and flashes of colour.

Depending on the angle and lighting, Rainbow Obsidian can reveal greens, purples, magentas, golds and other subtle colours that can remain almost completely hidden until the stone is moved into the right light. This makes every piece wonderfully unique.
