At first glance, these Yooperlite points have a beautiful natural speckled grey appearance, but put them under a UV light and they completely transform. The fluorescent areas light up with the most incredible fiery orange glow — it really does look like they're glowing from within. 

Each point has its own unique natural patterns and fluorescent markings, and they are all listed individually so you can choose your favourite.

What is Yooperlite?

Yooperlite is the popular trade name given to syenite rock containing fluorescent sodalite. Under normal lighting it can look fairly unassuming, but under UV light the sodalite-bearing areas fluoresce a brilliant orange or yellow-orange, creating that amazing fiery glow.

The name “Yooperlite” became well known after fluorescent rocks were discovered along the shores of Lake Superior in Michigan in 2017. Although the name originated with those Lake Superior finds, similar fluorescent sodalite-bearing material is found elsewhere.

These particular pieces are not from Lake Superior/Michigan.

Metaphysical Properties

Metaphysically, Yooperlite is traditionally associated with truth, self-expression and discovering what may be hidden beneath the surface — quite fitting for a stone that reveals an entirely different side of itself under UV light. 

It is believed to encourage self-acceptance and confidence while helping to release anger, negative thoughts and emotional tension.

Yooperlite is also traditionally associated with mental clarity, helping you look at situations more objectively, face fears and encourage a calmer, more perceptive state of mind.

The point shape is traditionally believed to help focus and direct energy, making these lovely pieces for meditation, intention setting or simply displaying in your crystal collection.
