Moonstone and Sunstone are both beautiful members of the Feldspar mineral family, each known for the incredible way they interact with light.

Moonstone is famous for its soft, glowing optical effect known as adularescence. As the stone moves, light appears to float across its surface, creating pearly white, silvery or sometimes striking blue flashes. Moonstone can occur in shades of white, cream, grey, peach, green and darker smoky tones.

Sunstone has a much warmer appearance, ranging from soft peach and golden orange to rich copper, red and earthy brown. Many pieces display a beautiful sparkling or metallic effect known as aventurescence, created by tiny reflective mineral inclusions within the stone.

Metaphysically, Moonstone is traditionally associated with intuition, emotional balance, new beginnings and feminine energy, while Sunstone is believed to bring warmth, confidence, optimism, motivation and joy. Together they make a beautiful pairing of gentle lunar and vibrant solar energy — the Moon and the Sun.
